Lost Basin, AZ

This is our camp in Lost Basin, AZ. BJ and Bluebowl John
came along this time to do some nugget shooting.

We camped just across the road from a good drywashing spot.
Here Kelly, a local prospector, is running some dirt and gravel.
He showed us some nice pickers and flake gold he
had recovered from this spot.

The Gold Buddy drywasher may be small but it sure can
handle a lot of material. Kelly is like a human bulldozer
he can sure put out the work.

Here he's vacuuming the bedrock, trying to get all that gold.
He's been following a red layer of gravel just above it as it
contains the most gold..

He even grabbed his #2 shovel and threw some dirt in a pan
from the spot he was working. He quickly panned it down and
damn he had a couple nice size flakes in his pan. That may not
sound like much but run a drywasher there for a while and it
can really add up, not to mention the pickers he's been finding.

Here's BJ testing his new Garrett Infinium detector.

He's chasing down another target, the gold's still out there.
We just have to get lucky and get our coils over it.

Bluebowl John has a hit in the side of the road and is digging.
You can find nuggets anywhere and roads are no exception.
I've found them there.

It's another day, another bunch of holes dug. Here's Bluebowl
pressing on trying to find that first nugget.  We were here in
March and the weather can be nice and pleasant or cold.
Bluebowl found his nugget the next day.

Even Coco had a good time.
