Minelab Question

Does the power out of the GP Minelab go down with decreasing battery voltage?

So I set up a test to check it out, here I'm looking at the
signal a GP series Minelab is sending down to the coil.
Pulses of 2 microseconds spaced 100 microseconds apart.
Sort of like a Radar sending out pulses then waiting
 for a return signal.

I had to disassemble the coil cable and connect the scope to it.
Power everything up and what you saw above is what's being
fed to the coil.

I set the DC Voltage to 5.5 volts and checked the signal
going down and it stayed exactly the same. This is where
the Minelab starts beeping low battery at you.

I set the DC Voltage to 7 volts and checked the signal
going down and it stayed exactly the same. This is not
a voltage you would ever want to put into the Minelab
for very long. It may do damage  if applied very long.
The big Minelab battery on your back get a full charge
voltage of about 6.6 volts when fresh off the charger.

Nothing ever change at all, rock solid from 5.5 to 7 volts.
After I did this I talked to a Minelab technician and he has
confirmed  these results too. So changing a battery at mid
day to get the most doesn't do anything more.
The pulses stay at 185 volts no mater what.
It's all regulated in the unit.
