Nevada Field Trip
(continued)
Here are more photos of our September club outing in
Nevada. The Eureka
Outdoor Club spent a couple days working a real gold
claim, thanks to,
John Urses, the owner.
The gold bearing material came from this shallow dig
higher up the mountain.
The material was delivered down to the trommel and
run.
The trommel had a huge barrel which screened out the
small material
and sent the large tailings out the end to a conveyer
stacker.
The vibrating jig
pulls the small and fine gold out of the flow.
These small iron pellets vibrate, catching the fine
gold and send it down and over to the bowls.
Clean up is the fun part!
Here everyone had to have a peek
at checking the Knudson/Knelson
Bowls for fines.
