Homemade Vac Pak

This is our homemade Vac Pak. It uses a Echo Leaf Blower for power.

Hints:     I used the Echo Vac/Blow unit but I think the reg blower which is cheaper would work just fine.
The hose comes from Shop Vac accessory kit about $17.00 from Lowes.  The bucket is ACE product $3.00,
I modified the lid by removing every other latch hook to make it easier to remove. It has 8 new now 4 and the
suction will not let the lid come off believe me. I used a simple 2 in plumbing adapter to shove the hose in on bucket.
It's like the ones under sinks to adapt from plastic 2 in to metal sink pipes , it has nut and washer. A tube of silicone
is the miners best friend as i use it all the time on these projects. It filled any remaining gaps for hose adapter, engine
to lid fit, air deflector, etc. Between the engine and bucket lid I used a old 5 in shop vac filter ring for a spacer, but
anything around 5 in will work, even a circle of heater hose plugged end to end. I was able to use 2 of the original
holes in Blower but had to remove cover and add 2 more ( 4 holes 90 deg apart). Then cut small spacers out of pipe
where needed to have a secure solid fit. Be sure to use large fender washers on both sides of the plastic lid at all attach
points as it is soft plastic, again a little silicone helps too. Hope this helps someone out there... Bill

Here is the rock deflector i installed, its just some bent tin, 2 rivets, and a dab of silicone.

This is that sink pipe adapter I mentioned , the hose fits snugly in it, again silicone helps
seal it around the bucket.
