Determining the land status of a particular parcel of land can be very simple or extremely complex. In the simplest case, land is acquired into the public domain and remains there with little more than a designated management agency to define its Land Status.
In the most complex of cases, land can be transferred from public to private and back again multiple times, each time with various restrictions. Land can be transferred with or without specific surface and subsurface rights or with partial rights. It all depends on the specifics of each land status case.
