Special Reports are produced exclusively by Land Matters for Claims Advantage Members. Each report presents useful claims analysis for Advantage Members that is not available otherwise.

Each Special Report presents complex information investigating a single subject in an easily understood format. Statistical data is provided in interactive tables and complemented with links to additional details and maps providing a visual representation of the data

New Special Reports are automatically emailed to Claims Advantage Members periodically as they become available. Each report is browser based and emailed to you as a compressed zip file. The average size of the fully compressed report is usually about 350K and when uncompressed is about 2.5 Mb.

This 15 page report presents Placer Mining Claims Located prior to 1985 and Closed during the 2013, 2014 or 2015 Federal mining years (September 1, 2012 - August 31, 2015). The report has separate tables for each Western Mining State as well as a heat map of all the claims in the report. Each State's report table is sortable by all 14 data items.

Unclaimed Historical Placers

This Special Report allows you to identify areas of good placer ground that are currently open to claim. It is the result of a lengthy analysis of historic mining claims from the BLM's LR2000 database. The result is a list Closed Placer Claims that were held continuously for at least 20 years.

Our Show Map feature lets you look at each closed claim on a custom Land Matters map that gives you current information on Active Mining Claims and Land Ownership for the area. We also provide a link to the BLM Serial Register Page for each claim so you can research its history.

This report is a great starting place to look for good, open placer ground to prospect or even stake your own claim. This report is updated every few years.

Annual Mining Claims Review - Overview

This Special Report presents a comparative review of federal mining claims for a seven year period. Data is presented at the national level, found on the home page and by state on individual state pages. This report presents year by year comparisons of five important annual statistics; Total mining claims, New mining claims, Closed mining claims, mining claim Acreage and Small Miners claims. All totals are also broken down by claim type, Lode, Placer, Millsite and Tunnel site.
